About the Ridley Educational Foundation

The Ridley Educational Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 1999 that raises private dollars through tax-deductible contributions to enrich educational opportunities and to support innovation and excellence in the schools of the Ridley School District. The Foundation partners with the Ridley Board of School Directors to present the annual District Service Recognition Dinner. Financial support is also provided for the High School Welcome Walk, Middle School Transition Camp, Ridley Hi-Q as well as four scholarships presented to graduating seniors.
The main goal of the foundation is to fund grants for projects/activities that are not supported by the school budget. These projects/activities are designed to promote academic achievement and enhance opportunities for students. The awarding of mini-grants encourages teachers to design innovative lessons and creative approaches to instruction that engage students in their learning, Ultimately, the community benefits from the students who are provided with an education that makes them competitive in the workplace and gives them a foundation for life long learning. Many of the programs supported by the grants promote interaction between students and the members of the surrounding business, medical, senior citizen and general neighborhood community.
